How BlueBird Put Payments Inside the Rental Agreement

Car Rental

BlueBird tied every hold, incremental auth, and post-return charge back to the rental agreement.

The problem

A rental is not one payment. It is a hold at pickup that has to survive the rental, grow when plans change, and settle days after the car comes back, with tolls and damage still trailing in. For BlueBird operators, all of it ran through outside processors that treated every charge as a new sale and lost the thread back to the agreement.

What we did

BlueBird builds auto rental software for independent and franchise operators. With ValPay embedded, payment follows the rental agreement: the deposit and incidental hold at the counter, incremental authorizations mid-rental, and post-return charges against the card on file, every one reconciled to the agreement it belongs to. BlueBird earns on the processing volume its operators generate.

The results

152 operators now run on ValPay, with a 95%+ payments attach rate.
