BlueBird Rentals Keeps Its Payment Margin

Deposits, holds, and final charges moved inside BlueBird, and the economics stayed home.

The problem

Car rental runs on payments. A deposit at booking, a hold at pickup, a final charge at return. For BlueBird operators, all of it cleared through outside processors. About 98 operators were taking cards on someone else's account.

What we did

BlueBird boarded onto ValPay, which put the full rental payment flow inside the software and settled it through ValPay's Fiserv PayFac. The base grew as prior contracts allowed, from 98 operators to 152, with payments attach above 95%. BlueBird now keeps the margin on volume it used to hand away.
